Food is amazing, spicy raw crab is delicious and service is on point, favorite spot in Torrance
It's alot more then tofu, I love this place, it's very good and the soup is always piping hot. A excellent Korean experience. Fresh and healthy eats.
highlights: - very thankful the staff let us bring in our service animal dog - excellent customer service, made sure our water was refilled - wide variety and plenty of banchan - LA kalbi combo (5/5): got it with the soybean and honestly so good. to be honest, this combo was so much food and could easily feed 2 ppl - outdoor seating only available for dinner service - will def come back
3.8 rounded to a 4. This place is busyyyy. Business is bustling. Soft tofu stew is solid, but not amazingly good and worth going out of the way for. We tried the kimchi, mushroom, and mixed stews. We grabbed the combination sets. They have lunch special prices for a lot of their menu listings, but they don't apply on weekends and holidays. BCD specializes in soft tofu stew, but their non soft tofu stew menu items are so good. While I feel like their stews are like that of other places, their non-stew items are top notch. I also felt like the stews were a bit overpriced despite inflation. The LA galbi was great and the best thing there is there spicy raw marinated crab. The sauce for the spicy raw marinated crab is so succulent and probably the best I've had. Try out their spicy raw marinated crab combo! It comes with the SRMC, soft tofu stew, and a small grilled fish. The banchan/side dishes here are also sooo good. I loved the raw marinated squid. Inside the restaurant isn't the nicest, but not terrible. It's like a larger, old town mom and pop shop. But it is clean and busy. Service felt rushed and impatient however. Our service kept pushing us to order more. I understanding upselling and suggestive selling, but this felt a bit rushed, impatient, and almost demanding. They were quietly attentive however and were nice when we paid the bill.
Atmosphere - Clean, lots of seating. Food / Taste - Ordered the combination meals with tofu soup. We got the Galbi, bulgogi and teriyaki chicken. We also ordered the mild seafood and dumplings tofu soups. Japchae and mandoo were authentic. Meats were tender and flavorful. Tofu soups were very tasty and remained hot. The banchan (kimchi, cucumber, fish cake, seaweed salad, Tako) was delicious. Customer Service - Excellent service! The staff were very helpful with all of our questions since it was our first time there. Price - Average
Many of our friends raved about CBD tofu for the longest time and we finally decided to give it a try while looking for a place for lunch in a cool fall Saturday morning. Located in the eastern end of Torrance, it is a standalone building with plenty of parking spaces. The servers were very nice and we got seated right away. The menu is shown on the paper placemat on each seating and it was very easy to understand. All orders come with small complementary side dishes plus their signature salted small fried fish. I ordered non-spicy seafood tofu. It was ready in about 15 minutes and the bowl was boiling hot which is perfect to cook the complementary raw egg. The tofu had a very nice texture (firm but smooth) and the seafood were fresh. The soup broth was on the light side but not bland. The rice was served in a stone pot which kept it warm throughout the meal (one suggestion, the slightly burnt part of the rice at the bottom of the pot can be added to your soup, it is quite unique and tasty). The complementary side dishes were great, kimchi was well seasoned and not overly spicy, the small fish was tasty, but my personal favorite was potato salad (yes, potato salad!) Overall, a great meal and for sure we will stop by again soon.
We arrived at BCD Tofu House and it was packed at 6:30pm. We were able to grab a parking spot that was close to Del Taco. The manager greeted us right when we entered and we grabbed the table in the corner of the room. It was extremely busy with all the tables taken and not easy to converse with the noise level. We ordered C1 - Kalbi Combo, it includes an order of Kalbi and a small Soon Tofu with beef and medium spiciness. And S3 - Soon Tofu with seafood with medium spiciness. When ordering only Soon Tofu, then it is the regular size of Soon Tofu. If ordering a combo, then it will be a small size of the Soon Tofu. To me, the medium is the level of spiciness comparable to hot salsa and the hot is the level of spiciness to habanero salsa. If ordering the Soon Tofu, a raw egg will be given. Crack the egg into the boiling Soon Tofu and with a spoon bury the egg to the bottom of the pot so the egg will cook. The egg shell should be set aside to be thrown away. All dishes come with a small fried fish, rice in stone pot, and assorted ban chan (side dish). The fried fish is delicious with lots of little bones. Scoop the rice into a small metal bowl. There should be a thin layer of slightly crispy rice left inside of the stone pot that had rice, fill that stone pot with hot barley tea. After finishing the rice, then the scorched rice barley tea can be eaten with the refill of the ban chan (side dishes). We will come back again!
I LOVE BCD! And this place is super fire and generous. They always have a plethora of their side dishes (the fish is amazing) and are generous at giving a lot. I love getting their combo special with the galbi. On mothers day this year they offered free spicy crab or bulgogi to customers! Definitely a must try.
